Matthew Alexander (born January 30, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana) is a retired Major League baseball player. He was a utility player for the Chicago Cubs 19731974, Oakland Athletics 19751977 and Pittsburgh Pirates 19781981. He holds the record for most appearances as a pinch runner in MLB history.

I sent a sase envelope along with a fan letter and baseball card to former Chicago Cubs, Oakland A's and Pittsburgh Pirates 3rd Baseman/Outfielder Matt Alexander. He was nice enough to sign the baseball card and send it back to me.

Matt Alexander Success!! - November 5th, 2011
On 10/6/2011 I sent former Pittsburgh Pirate Outfielder a LOR, SASE and 1 card. I got it back today (11/5/2011) signed with a black felt tipped marker! I think I was really lucky to have got this one back, because the envelope was never sealed it has a pull and peal seal thing on the envelope and it was never pulled to expose the adhesive, very lucky the card never fell out. But even more happy about the success!
